I'm Roisin, I live in England (and sometimes Wales) I can't pronounce my middle name and I post infrequently which makes me sad

degrees I could have taken at this university that I think I would have enjoyed a lot:

Archaeology
Biology
Criminology & Psychological Studies
Fashion Marketing
Graphic Arts
History
Marine Biology
Oceanography
Zoology

I enjoy English, I really do, but increasingly I just feel like I’m trying to get through this thing without a terrible grade rather than get the most out of it. I wish I was taking something that I was truly PASSIONATE about.

I feel like going to university and doing a subject is sort of like making it your job, there are good and bad parts to everyone’s jobs even if you love the general area you’ve gone into.

I was quite indifferent last year to what grades I got and much like you I felt bored and was just wanting a grade but as this year counts and I’ve found this year a lot more engaging, it’s been way better. I now want to do well but more importantly I want to learn more. I do history and this year I’ve felt like I’m actually able to debate and speak up in class. my lecturer even said I had interesting ideas in an essay WTH! I had actual thoughts he found compelling, is that mad or is that just me.

There’s peaks and troughs to everything and if it’s really getting you down maybe talk to student mentors (is this a thing at everyones uni or just mine?), even if this seems like a small problem they might have some ideas to help out.
