I watched the pilot again today and I’m currently about to watch the second episode again. I’m still not sure whether I like it or not. If you wanna see me ramble about it
I liked the pilot except for the beginning speech where he talks about how great men used to be. I wouldn’t want to live in any other time except now because, although it’s not perfect or anywhere near it, it’s way better than I would have ever lived in the past since I’m a woman. And for a show that seems to have an intelligent powerful woman at the center of a lot of the drama it’s kind of insulting to her, right? (TBH Episode two as a whole was insulting to women and I think Linda Holmes explained it well when she said “The women who are here exist, quite simply, on the theory that nothing is more dramatically important than a man becoming great, and men cannot become great without women to inspire, provoke, and drive them.”)
I dislike Will, him calling Neal Punjab and being surprised that a black man is called Gary Cooper definitely cemented it, I don’t care how many taxi’s he buys for people without transport. Also Sorkin having the two black characters only discuss Obama, really? REALLY?!
Also stop the shouting monologues back and forth and calling my generation the worst ever.
I like Jim and I think Maggie and Mac could be great if they could be competant in their jobs. And I like Neal, I want him to be more than little quips every now and then. And Charlie has a great bow tie and I like that he is ready to beat people up at work.
